Every Forge Lab lamp is printed in London after you order it. No warehouse, no stock on a shelf. A file, a spool of biodegradable PLA, and a few days. What you see here is the real print file.

Forge Lab started on Etsy with one idea: the shoji lantern, a shape that has diffused light in Japanese homes for centuries, printed in a material that didn't exist when it was invented.
Every lamp is designed in-house, printed in biodegradable PLA, fitted with a USB LED and packed by hand in Harrow. Nothing is printed until you order it, which is why the range can change and why we're happy to talk about custom colours.
The window in the logo is literal too: a lit window on a dark street is what a lamp does to a room. This is a workshop, not a warehouse.
Every lamp is made to order. Allow 1–5 business days for printing and assembly, then around 2 business days for delivery: 3–7 business days in total. You'll get a confirmation email with tracking where available.
The warm (non-RGB) LED is 5–10 W and noticeably brighter: pick it for a dark room or a reading corner. It comes in three colour temperatures: 3000 K (warm white, cosy), 4000 K (neutral white) or 6500 K (daylight, crisp). The RGB LED is 1–3 W, comes with a wireless remote, and lets you change colour, mode and brightness. Both run from USB-A at 5 V. Try all of them on the lamp with the LED panel on this page.
The frame, base and diffuser are 3D-printed in biodegradable PLA. You'll see fine layer lines on the surface; that's the texture of the process, not a defect.
Frame colours are offered on each lamp (black, dark brown, brown, and red on the Shoji). For anything else, message us before ordering — several Etsy buyers had theirs customised.
You have 14 days after delivery to request a return. Items need to come back unused, in their original packaging, with proof of purchase; return postage is at your expense. Custom or personalised lamps can't be returned. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days.
